"Listen to the mustn'ts, child. Listen to the don'ts. Listen to the shouldn'ts, the impossibles, the won'ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me... Anything can happen, child. Anything can be." — Shel Silverstein

Personal Childhood Web pt. 2

R.I.P - Granny Angel (3/28/98)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The fourth person that influenced me in my life is my old high school guidance counselor Mrs. Patty Stamper.  My senior year in high school my father had cancer.  I had to take care of him and my little brother, while my mother worked to support the family.  I watched my father go from 300 lbs. to 140lbs. in such a short time.  He was losing faith and so was I.  This was a very trying time for me.  Mrs. Stamper was there to encourage me.  She was my shoulder to cry on.  She and my mother worked very hard to keep focused.  They kept my mind on going to college after graduation.  I talk to Mrs. Stamper on several occasions and she still has that reassuring smile that everything will work out for the best.
